Fans on Twitter react to Hill challenge
QPR and Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter seemed largely united in their surprise that Clint Hill avoided a red card in their match on Tuesday.
Wednesday winger Modou Sougou was stretchered off after an eight-minute delay having been scythed down by Hill, who returned to the Rangers side the day after his 37th birthday.
Many QPR supporters conceded Hill was lucky to stay on the pitch after the challenge just before half-time. QPR
Love Clint & all that but that looks like a red card to me too. Sorry about the SWFC player #QPRvWED #QPR — Jules Cassidy (@Rofrano) October 20, 2015
Trying to work out what was worse. Clint Hill’s touch/turn, the referee’s decision to not give a foul/send him off or the way he landed #QPR

OK the defending was better thanks to Clint hill, who should have been sent off and Sheffield Wed should have had a stonewall penalty — Steve Oliver (@Loftboy63) October 20, 2015

Unsurprisingly, Wednesday fans were incensed by the decision not to send Hill off.
Well I was entirely wrong about that Clint Hill tackle, clearly a foul and a red card #swfc #qpr

How did clint hill stay on the pitch? #swfc — Tom Benton (@BentonTom) October 20, 2015
Just seen Hill’s tackle on Sougou. Taken him out completely, clean through on goal, stretchered off as a result. How is it not a red? #swfc

However, Rangers fans felt Hill’s overall display more than justified the decision to include him.
Clint Hill, different class tonight. Shows that hard work, effort and commitment can make all the difference #QPR — steve allen (@steveallen82) October 20, 2015
Tonight was further confirmation of what we’ve known all season: Clint Hill is still by far the best defender we have @QPRFC. — Stewart M (@stewiemac67) October 20, 2015
