Is it time for Redknapp to go?

QPR’s defeat at Charlton on Saturday has led to speculation that manager Harry Redknapp could be axed.

Redknapp’s side, pre-season favourites for promotion, have lost three matches in a row and are now seven points behind second-placed Burnley.

  • Well what did you make of the Leeds game? We were second best in all departments and only luck earnt us a point, come on Tomy, put us and hart your of any more misery, get us a coach with talent and a sense of purpose, we have bend lucky all season but are being found out increasingly easily , new era required with a long term goal, not just 1 season!!

  • Harry should stay..at least until end of season..we need to recall back Loic Remy..he still our player whatever it is.

  • @ Jimuk - agreed, it's hard to see any of these players doing a Lee Cook.

I think Harry deserves some praise for rehabilating Barton.

I think Tony views himself as a kind of director of football, having specific targets in mind. But he's too reactionary. We paniced after losing Austin and brought in too many loan players in January which destabilised the team spirit. Instead we should have bought one good striker who would give a damn and is playing for the team and not the shop-window.

Replacing Harry for Laudrup would be pointless. We are going to repeatedly be disappointed with Tony at the reigns, I fear.

  • Get him out and move onto pastures new, I'm not concerned about going up this season now because the team will need completely rebuilding anyway, get fresh blood in with fresh ideas and a tactical know how, if you have watched the Rs this season you will know how lucky they have been , but let are up there by playing good football and having great team spirit .... Both of which Rangers unfortunately lack , I love em as much as the next fan but we have to honest and face the real issues..

  • I agree with HearMeRrrr. The problem is Fernandez and the CEO they are well meaning but have shown very poor judgement and a lack of football management experience. Harry is countering that but the club needs to develop a strategy and bring on the youth (Hitchcock?) instead of continually signing mercenaries. Many of these players do not connect with the fans like previous qpr teams.

  • The team have been a bunch of strangers to each other since promotion to the EPL. There's no drive or enthusiasm - we're far too slow in our build up and don't challenge far enough up field. Now the early season fear and respect has gone from the oppo, they'll come at us full blast - full of confidence - and blow us to bits every week. If we go up with this lot - it's straight back down.
I think Harry's had his chance and achieved very little. At least with Hughes we beat Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool, but now we can't even beat Charlton.
Back to square one I'm afraid and getting McLaren back would do no harm.

  • Harry should definitely stay. And it is a massive blow to any club to lose the players we have lost!!! Austin, Phillips our tops scorers and the marauding Simpson. Would we have been a better team with Ali F, dam right we would. Imagine Burnley losing ings or vokes or derby losing bamford or Martin and so on. None of the top 6 has suffered this same bad luck. We did not buy our way out this transfer window but brought in loan players, wise I must say, learning from the past! The hope is Simpson to return soon and Austin in April and hope the lone signings can keep things ticking. Morrison is a brilliant signing and think on another day would scored on his debut. But we have to stop trying to walk the ball into the goals, so frustrating! Win next three and things change dramatically. Leeds Will be a tough game but I still have hope for this squad and Harry!

  • same old stuff loan players coming in lots of money being spent on what? a wolves player why has scored 2 in 20 ,2 westham players that thay dont want but we do .our own young players ant getting a look in who would die for the club..iv bin told harry only gos for big names so that means our young players dont get a look in .we will not make the play offs now all to little to late ,i fear for our club now all that debt all that money spent .still all the rubbish loan players will be gone .

  • Tony is the problem, not Harry. Tony has been the
common denominator in each of our last three
disappointing seasons. He is a businessman but knows
nothing about sport. Similar track run as with his F1
team, who have not picked up a single championship
point while he has been in control. Hope he does the
decent thing and leaves like he promised. Would be
good to take the Mittals too. It makes me uneasy having
people that obscenely rich involved in QPR. I don’t think
they’re sincere in their commitment, don’t know why
they’re involved. Although with the preposterous new
property plans I’d imagine they’ll all dig their heels in.

Nice to see Taarabt do well in Italy though.
