QPR fans hail return of Mackie after club bring forward back to Loftus Road
QPR fans on Twitter greeted confirmation of Jamie Mackie’s return with delight.
Mackie, who became a crowd favourite during a three-year spell at Loftus Road, was brought back by the club after negotiating his release from Nottingham Forest.
There was a mixed reaction to the news from Forest fans, with many dismayed that the 29-year-old forward was leaving two years after his move to the City Ground.
Meanwhile, ex-QPR defender Matt Connolly, a former team-mate of Mackie, described the deal as “a very good signing” by the R’s.
And while some supporters expressed misgivings about the move, many more enthusiastically backed the decision to re-sign him.
