Little sympathy for Green among QPR fans on Twitter
Many QPR fans on Twitter have been scathing in their criticism of Rob Green after the goalkeeper’s interview in the Daily Mail over the weekend.
Green said he was “frustrated” and “hurt” at being shunned since 1 January as Rangers try to avoid triggering an automatic contract extension if he plays 30 times this season.
But there appears to be little sympathy among R’s supporters, some of whom feel he should have looked to cancel his contract.
So ‘top pro’ Rob Green goes whinging to the papers. Seems happy enough to take £50k a week rather than agree to be released on a free? #QPR

If the multi millionaire Green is so desperate to play, why not agree to terminate his deal early and sign for someone as a free agent? #QPR

Rob Green “Not about money”. Errr…well, you wanna play. We won’t play you. Why don’t you cancel your contract & leave now on a free ? #QPR

I don’t want Rob Green to put on a QPR shirt again. Massive liability between the sticks #QPR

I don’t understand why Green didn’t drop the clause from his #QPR contract. Dropping things has served him pretty well over the years.

Whilst I’ll agree that the Rob Green situation is #QPR at its farcical best, he is NOT our best keeper & the Daily Mail puff piece is a joke

Some fans, however, are supportive of Green and feel the club have treated him badly.
Feel sorry for Rob Green, will always be a QPR hero imo and deserves game time somewhere, however Smithies has completely out-classed him 👏🏽

QPR should have let Rob Green go in the summer. He didn’t owe us anything; in fact, we probably owed him.

The way rob green is being treated at QPR is so wrong.he’s been a loyal servant doesn’t deserve to rot on a bench over contract issues

whilst Green should be thanked for his endeavours on Rs behalf,he must realise that the solution lies in his own hands. On another topic,I’m sure Derby fans are really happy to be getting the man who helped to deny them victory at Wembley.Just a word of warning, watch out for Harry’s knee it could go at any time.

I think Green and QPR should have come to a compromise.
The current keeper is good which hasn’t helped to force a settlement.
Green has been a good servant to QPR in my opinion.
