There continues to be speculation over the future of Charlie Austin, with the Sun on Sunday claiming that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering a move for the QPR striker.
It is suggested Rodgers could turn to Austin, who scored 18 goals last season and is expected to leave Loftus Road following Rangers’ relegation from the Premier League.
Austin been widely linked with a move to Newcastle. This week it was reported that the Magpies had made an approach and that Chelsea are also interested.
QPR want £15m for him and have so far not recieved any offers.
The Mail on Sunday reports that former Newcastle stalwart Steve Watson has declared that Austin could become a hero on Tyneside if he moves to St James’ Park.
And the Daily Star Sunday reports that former West Ham striker Dean Ashton has urged recently-appointed Hammers boss Slaven Bilic to take Austin to east London.
