The former England forward, who has Alzheimer’s disease, was given a hero’s reception on Saturday on ‘StanBowlesDay’ – organised by the club as a tribute to the man widely regarded as its best-ever player.

  • last time I had abeer and chat with him was in british queen pub and gave me autographed photo loved fact I was a regular at Romford dogs as well as over 40 yrs a east Londoner but qpr fanatic.

  • I came across a autograph that Stan gave me years ago when he had left Rangers and had ended up playing for Brentford. I was delivering some meat pies to the ground and he was just leaving. He signed a price list I had with me. He was my hero and I am so glad I still have it. Its a treasured memento.
