Leeds v Brentford: five key battles

Brentford will face a tough test at Elland Road on Saturday. Here are five potential battles we think could be crucial to their chances against Uwe Rosler’s Leeds.

Maxime Colin v Stuart Dallas
Ex-Brentford star Dallas faces his former club for the first time since leaving. He will come up against an impressive defender in Colin, who has settled in well following his recent move from Anderlecht.

Toumani Diagouraga v Tom Adeyemi
Adeyemi is another familiar face, having been on loan at Brentford. His style would make for an interesting battle with Diagouraga – if the Bees midfielder retains his starting place after being substituted in the first half against Reading last time out.

Jake Bidwell v Sam Byram or Jordan Botaka
The versatile Byram, who can also play as a full-back, has struggled as a winger this season and recent signing Botaka could take his place. Coincidentally, Leeds’ new arrival played under Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen at Excelsior last season.

James Tarkowski v Chris Wood
New Zealander Wood will lead the line for Leeds, having scored in each of the last three league games – including the winner at Derby last time out. It should be an interesting battle between the 6ft 3in target man and Tarkowski.

Marinus Dijkhuizen v Uwe Rosler
This will be ex-Brentford manager Rosler’s second game against his former club. The first, while in charge of Wigan last October, ended goalless. The German picked up nine points from his first four league games in charge at Griffin Park. Dijkhuizen has just four.
