West Ham reportedly looking to hijack Fulham’s striker deal
Sky Sports say West Ham have made a last-gasp bid to sign Fulham target Kostas Mitroglou.
Fulham are close to buying the Olympiakos striker but Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is reportedly looking to hijack the deal.
Dimitar Berbatov is again being linked with a possible pre-deadline move to Tottenham or Arsenal.
The Guardian suggest Fulham signing a striker would pave the way for Berbatov to leave Craven Cottage.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was recently reported to be keen to re-sign the Bulgarian, who had a two-year spell at White Hart Lane before being sold to Manchester United in 2008.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied reports he is interested in signing Berbatov.
Fulham have tabled a bid for Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley, according to Sky.
They have also made an approach to Manchester United for Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole, again according to Sky.
Whites boss Rene Meulensteen worked with both youngsters while a coach at Old Trafford and is reportedly keen to sign them before Friday’s transfer deadline.
However, Tunnicliffe is currently on loan at Ipswich Town, and the East Anglian Daily Times reports that Fulham have denied the player is heading to west London.
A source is quoted as saying: “It’s just people putting two and two together and coming up with five due to Rene’s Manchester United background.
“Signing players for the future will come in time, but right now it’s all about avoiding relegation.”
There is speculation over the futures of John Terry and David Luiz, with Chelsea being tipped to complete the signing of St Etienne centre-back Kurt Zouma.
The Evening Standard reports that Chelsea have agreed a £12.4m fee for Zouma and hope to conclude a deal this week.
He has been touted as a possible long-term replacement for Terry, whose contract expires at the end of the season, while Luiz continues to be linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Bobby Zamora is being linked with Crystal Palace and West Brom.
QPR have made the 33-year-old striker available and will happily let him go if a club comes in for him.
Zamora’s contract at Loftus Road expires in the summer and he is not part of boss Harry Redknapp’s plans.
A number of Championship clubs have been made aware of his availability, but top-flight sides Albion and Palace are being touted as possible destinations.

Redknapp has suggested to Talksport that Rangers have missed out on the signing of Auxerre forward Paul-Georges Ntep.
Redknapp said: “We thought we had a couple and then they went elsewhere.
“We wanted to take a lad from Auxerre, a left winger who I thought was fantastic, and at the last minute he decided to stay in France. I think he is going to Rennes.”
But Redknapp confirmed he is still hoping to sign Ishak Belfodil on loan from Inter Milan despite Italian media reports that a potential deal collapsed.
