Blues said to be chasing Alderweireld and Albion are linked with Bamford

Chelsea are keen to sign Toby Alderweireld, the Sunday Mirror say.

Southampton are looking to tie up a deal to sign the 26-year-old Belgian defender on a permanent deal after he impressed while on loan from Atletico Madrid last season.

Alderweireld has indicated that he would like to return to England and it is claimed that the Blues want him along with Manchester City and Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford is a target for West Brom, the Daily Star Sunday claim.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Petr Cech, who is expected to leave Chelsea this summer, while the Blues are being widely tipped to sign Radamel Falcao despite the striker’s disappointing loan spell at Manchester United.

Arsenal continue to be linked with goalkeeper Cech and the Sunday Mirror say the Gunners face competition from Paris St-Germain.

The newspaper also say that Manchester United could move for Cech if they lose David de Gea to Real Madrid and fail to land Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris as a replacement.

Spanish media reports continue to suggest Chelsea are pursuing the £20m signing of Atletico Madrid defender Joao Miranda.

And AfricanFootball.com say Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has agreed personal terms with United Arab Emirates club Al Ain.
