Many QPR fans on Twitter welcomed the news that young full-back Darnell Furlong was joining Swindon on a season-long loan.
Furlong’s previous loan moves, to Cambridge and Northampton, were greeted with dismay by many supporters who argued he should be given run in the Rangers first team.
This time, however, the general reaction to news that a loan deal in the offing – it was later confirmed by the clubs – was that a move to League One side Swindon was a good idea.
