Gavin Peacock was among the ex-QPR players to welcome Glenn Hoddle’s arrival at the club on Twitter.
The former England manager has joined the coaching staff at Loftus Road after accepting an offer from Rangers boss Harry Redknapp.
And Peacock, who played under Hoddle at Chelsea and Redknapp at Bournemouth, has no doubt it will turn out to be a good move.
Peacock tweeted: “Exciting to see my old boss Glenn Hoddle join my old boss Harry Redknapp @QPRFC Glenn is a football genius. #quality”
Those sentiments were echoed by former R’s and England defender David Bardsley.
“QPR possibly will play a 3-5-2, experience with coaching this system is key factor, knowing all the structures of player requirements,” Bardsley wrote.
“The very best to Glenn in his new position, Harry doing a wonderful job and let’s hope for a fantastic season.”

And Hogan Ephraim, who left Rangers at the end of last season, tweeted: “QPR have possibly made the signing of the window! They haven’t been right since McClaren left. Hoddle will fill that role perfectly!”
