Fans on Twitter react to Caulker’s Liverpool move
Many Liverpool fans on Twitter have been unimpressed by the signing of QPR centre-back Steven Caulker.
The 24-year-old’s loan at Southampton was cut short on Tuesday to allow him to move to Anfield until the end of the season.
But a number of Reds fans are not convinced by Caulker, who was in the Saints side beaten 6-1 by Liverpool last month.
I’m all up for giving players a chance but caulker is absolutely garbage. One of the worst centre backs in the league #lfc

Slightly disappointed that Steven Caulker is the calibre of player that @LFC are able to attract at the moment 😡 #LFC #Caulker

Caulker deal shows how far we have fallen. No longer a top 4 club and we all need to adapt to that #LFC

Was Klopp at the game when Origi tore Caulker apart? Was one of the worst performances Iv ever seen yet we go and sign him on loan? #LFC

Just when I thought Christian Poulsen couldn’t be topped as the least exciting signing we’ve made, we go and sign Steve Caulker 😔 #LFC

Caulker on loan is really depressing #LFC

But other Liverpool fans were keen to support manager Jurgen Klopp, who explained Caulker’s aerial ability was partly behind the move.
Have no issue w/ Caulker to #LFC. Need depth. Trust Klopp

Caulker: Smart business by Klopp considering he wont be able get his primary targets til summer #LFC

I’m actually happy that Liverpool signed Caulker,we need a defender while everyone is “injured”,something Liverpool need to sort out #LFC

A loan move for Caulker could be a genius move by Klopp, 24 years old and English. If he does a decent job could be a permanent signing #lfc

We’ve conceded too many headed goals. If caulker’s main strength is in the air, he could well do a lot for us. #LFC

I hope caulker does well just to shut up our moaning supporters up. Support the lad… He ain’t put on a red shirt yet… #lfc #Caulker

Typical newspaper sensationalism, one fan says “absolute garbage” and this becomes the headline. Poor standards.
