Many QPR fans on Twitter have reacted with bemusement to the appointment of Kevin Blackwell as an assistant to interim head coach Neil Warnock.
The pair worked together at Sheffield United, Huddersfield, Bury and Plymouth, while Blackwell was close to becoming QPR’s manager in 2009 but the club were unable to agree his release from the Blades.
Rangers supporters wondered why Warnock needed a number two as a caretaker, on the same day former R’s midfielder Shaun Derry was appointed Cambridge United boss.
However, many fans of Sheffield United looked on in envy at the reunion of the management duo who took the Blades into the Premier League and an FA Cup semi-final.
