Chelsea and Arsenal are leading a race to sign Senegal striker Moussa Konate, the Sunday People reckon.
The 22-year-old plays for Swiss club Sion and is apparently rated at £10m. Tottenham, West Ham and Everton are also said to be keen.
Konate’s agent Issa Kossoko has suggested that the player is attracting interest from a number of clubs.
Kossoko is quoted as saying: “Lots of English clubs are interested in Moussa – Chelsea and Arsenal scouts are keeping an eye on him – but he is not obsessed with the Premier League and will consider good offers from Germany, Spain or England.
“Hannover, Mainz and Bruges were keen on him this summer, offering up to £6m. But Sion said they would not sell for less than £10m.”
Meanwhile, the Sunday Express claim Paris St-Germain’s owners Qatar Sports Investments want Jose Mourinho to manage the French club.
The newspaper say a ‘well-placed source’ has suggested that Mourinho could have been axed by Chelsea had they lost to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League in midweek.
Former France coach Laurent Blanc has taken PSG to the top of Ligue1 this season but there has been speculation over his future and PSG’s owners are said to be keen to know Mourinho’s future plans.
Chelsea are ready to battle with Tottenham for the signing of Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama, the Daily Star Sunday say.
It is claimed that Mourinho wants to table a £20m bid for the Saints star when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Blues have long been linked with Juventus’ former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
The Star suggests apparent interest from Barcelona in Pogba means Wanyama is a more realistic signing for Chelsea.
