Blues beating Palace looks a formality, but Fulham will be up against it

It hasn’t been said too often this season, but what a fantastic week for Fulham fans, who must feel buoyant ahead of the trip to face Roberto Martinez’s Everton at Goodison Park.charlie-mcCann_Aff

The 2-0 defeat of Aston Villa gave new manager Rene Meulensteen his first win in charge of the club since taking over from Martin Jol last month. BetVictor have eased out the Cottagers for relegation to even-money and odds-on at 8/11 to stay up.

The win ended a run of seven consecutive defeats – and ended Dimitar Berbatov’s dry spell in front of goal, his penalty doubling his tally for the season to two, but pressure remains on the Bulgarian to produce.

He remains the even-money favourite to be the Whites’ top scorer in the Premier League almost by default – who else will get the goals?

Fulham have a mountain to climb, facing an Everton side that are flying – the Toffees have just one defeat to their name all season and were outstanding when beating Manchester United at Old Trafford before holding Arsenal to a share of the spoils at The Emirates.

Fulham have lost their last 20 in a row at Goodison and as such its evasive action from the bookies.

BetVictor make Martinez’s men 4/11 to continue the streak, 17/2 for a Fulham win and 4/1 the draw.

Chelsea were turned over 3-2 at the Britannia against a gallant Stoke City side at the weekend but with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United all slipping up, Jose Mourinho’s team remain just five points off the top and are still 4/1 for the title with BetVictor.

Chelsea are 14/1 for Champions League success, Bayern Munich the 5/2 favourites – but a 3-2 loss at home to Manchester City on Tuesday shows they are beatable.

Chelsea look to have the straightforward task of hosting Crystal Palace (1/3 for relegation) on Saturday and despite new Eagles manager Tony Pulis enjoying back-to-back wins at Palace, he will no doubt be scarred after seeing his Stoke City side thumped 7-0 at Stamford Bridge in 2010.

Chelsea are 2/11 favourites, Palace 20/1 and the draw 13/2 but it’s hard to see past a home win, with the 3-1 correct score appealing most at 12/1 with BetVictor.
