Besiktas chief keen on Mikel
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…
Besiktas president Fikret Oman has said that the Turkish club could make a move for Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi in January.
Oman was keen to sign Mikel, 28, during the summer transfer window, when there was speculation that the Nigerian could leave Stamford Bridge.
And Oman told Fanatik. “If [Besiktas manager] Senol Gunes had given the go-ahead we were going to sign Mikel, and we could enter the race again over the winter break.”
Chelsea, recently linked with a move for Ruben Neves, face competition from Liverpool for the Porto youngster, the Daily Star claims.
New Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a fan of the 18-year-old midfielder and there is therefore speculation that he could target him.
Reports in Spain are once again linking Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke with a potential move to Chelsea.
And there have again been reports in the Italian media that Nathaniel Chalobah could return to Chelsea in January.
The 20-year-old has barely featured for Napoli since joining them on a season-long loan.
