Beating Stoke and West Ham should be straightforward for Chelsea
Chelsea face former Blues star Mark Hughes’ Stoke City side in the FA Cup on Sunday, and on paper it should be a straightforward task for them at Stamford Bridge.
The Potters are struggling, having lost against Crystal Palace last weekend and had five put past them by Liverpool previously.
BetVictor make Chelsea 1/4 favourites, Stoke 14/1 and the draw 5/1 with the value perhaps for the Blues to win both halves, at 5/4.
Frank Lampard looks set to return from injury and start, and he is 6/1 to score the first goal and 11/8 to mark his likely comeback by finding the back of the net.
Samuel Eto’o scored all three in the win against Manchester United last weekend to become the first Chelsea player to net a hat-trick against the Red Devils in almost 60 years.
BetVictor have cut the striker to 4/1 to be the club’s leading scorer in the Premier League this season. Eden Hazard the 6/4 favourite, having netted nine times already.
We’re asking punters how they rate Chelsea’s chances of picking up silverware this year…
What will Chelsea win in 2013/2014?
To win any trophy: 5/4
Not to win a trophy: 4/7
Premier League & FA Cup: 18/1
Premier League & Champions League: 33/1
FA Cup & Champions League: 66/1
The Treble: 150/1
Last year’s beaten finalists Manchester City are 7/2 favourites to lift the FA Cup, with Arsenal and Chelsea both 9/2, Liverpool 5s, Everton 9s and 12s Bar.
The fourth-round draw has been very kind to all of the big teams, but it means that Sunday’s draw for the fifth round should throw up some very tasty ties.
West Ham will travel to the Bridge next Wednesday in the league, having lost five of their last six games and conceded 18 goals in that period, including a 3-0 reverse against Manchester City in the Capital One Cup.
Chelsea are currently 1/5 favourites for that game, with West Ham 16/1 and the draw 11/2.
And if you think the Blues will run riot against Sam Allardyce’s men, BetVictor make a 5-0 home win 22/1 and 6-0 40/1.
