AVB and Rodgers linked as speculation over Mourinho’s position continues

Brendan Rodgers and Andre Villas-Boas are among those now being touted as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

There has been speculation that Mourinho could lose his job as Blues boss if his team are beaten by Liverpool on Saturday.

Rodgers was recently sacked by Liverpool and the Belfast Telegraph claims the Northern Irishman could take over at Stamford Bridge on an interim basis.

And Metro have picked up on a report on a Spanish website which claimed former Chelsea manager Villas-Boas, who was sacked by the club in 2012 and is now at Zenit St Petersburg, could even be a contender should Mourinho leave.

Rodgers has also been linked with Aston Villa

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea want Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Alex Teixeira.

It comes after the 25-year-old was quoted by Ukrainian media as saying: “I have an offer.

“It was a pleasure to know that Chelsea wants to sign me. It would be great if the transfer already happens in January.”

And the Daily Express continues to link Chelsea with a January move for Paul Pogba, whose agent has suggested that the midfielder could leave Juventus in January.
