Newly-crowned champions Chelsea hammered Sunderland to become the first team to win 30 Premier League matches in a season. Here’s how we rated each Blues player in the 5-1 win.
Hardly called upon, but commanded his area well and produced a good second-half save to keep out Jack Rodwell’s header.
Solid as usual and got forward plenty, especially in the second half.
An emotional send-off for Chelsea’s legendary number 26, who was given a hero’s reception when substituted in the 26th minute. What a way for him to bow out at Stamford Bridge.
Had another impressive game at the heart of the Chelsea defence and was involved in the build up to the first Blues goal. Has had a brilliant season.
A couple of wayward crosses and attempts on goal summed up what was a frustrating afternoon for him at times, but he was full of running as usual.
Far better teams than Sunderland have been unable to trouble the player of the year, who ran the show in midfield with ease.
Another classy display in which he again showed his brilliant range of passing. His ball forward led to the third goal and he was creative throughout.
A good outlet on the left-hand side and was unlucky not to score when his first-half free-kick hit the bar.
A typically bright, buzzing display from the Brazilian. Scored Chelsea’s equaliser and was always a threat to the Sunderland defence.
Took his goal really well and was back on form after a below par performance last time out.
Missed a couple of decent chances but always made his presence felt. Will it also be his final appearance at the Bridge?
Calm and composed after coming on for Terry in the first half.
Certainly made an impression after coming on, scoring Chelsea’s third goal and setting up the fourth.
Having struggled to establish himself following his arrival last summer, Batshuayi has enjoyed a spectacular finish to the season. He scored the winner at West Brom which clinched the title and his two goals after coming on against Sunderland – the second of which was the final kick of Chelsea’s season – meant he ended the campaign with four goals in his last three appearances.
