Fernandes says he wants ‘committed players’ as QPR head to the Championship
Chairman Tony Fernandes has declared that QPR want “committed players” following their latest defeat.
Rangers’ 2-0 loss at Everton on Saturday moved them a step closer to relegation.
And Fernandes revealed on Twitter that he had spoken to manager Harry Redknapp – who wants a new pitch laid at Loftus Road – and the players after the game.
He tweeted: “Good chat with Harry. He wants committed players. Players with the right attitude. Also wants new pitch at Loftus which we have agreed.
“I went to dressing room after game. Talked to players. It’s clear who is committed. Last man to leave who was gutted Chris samba. There were others.”
Fernandes also tweeted a picture of the proposed new training ground for Rangers at Warren Farm and reiterated that the club’s owners intend to stay at the helm.
“Despite problems on the pitch. Shareholders resolve is strong. We continue our plan. This [the training ground] is crucial,” he wrote.
