Fernandes ‘calm and optimistic’ and Samba hits back at angry fans

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes remained defiant following the derby defeat at Fulham.

Rangers’ 3-2 loss left them seven points from safety with seven matches left to play – a position from which no club has achieved Premier League survival.

But Fernandes tweeted: “Shocking first half. No more breaks. Game every week. Its still in our hands. 7 games 21 points. Feeling calm and still optimistic. Keep the faoth whatever happens.”

Meanwhile, Chris Samba hit back at criticism of him following his dismal performance at Craven Cottage.

The £12.5m signing, who agreed a lucrative contract at Loftus Road when he was bought in January, was at fault for Fulham’s first two goals.

And he responded to disgruntled QPR fans with a number of angry tweets.

“To all you keep talking about 100 k performance, tell me what is a 100k performance?we as players go out and give our all,” he wrote.

“We do are best every week, what I get payed has nothing to do with any of you,as for my price tag I didn’t put a price on my head, grow up pls.

“U all moan about players and wages, but we don’t just entertain u we entertain millions around the world, with out us what would u tweet about.

“We play this sport as players that we love but also is a job,we keep millions happy on a sat,we get payed to entertain u all.

“Just some most then others hope u understand, fed up with the money tweets get over it and support the team.”

  • Yes Samba had a bad game, but you cant blame anyone at the club for start we had under Mark Hughes, Mark Hughes is to blame for all our problems. He leaved us with no strike power and back line that a sunday league team could have passed through.
