Dons boss linked with QPR job

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is a contender for the QPR manager’s job, the Scottish Sun reckon.

West London Sport have revealed this week that odds-on favourite Tim Sherwood is not in the frame and that Birmingham manager Gary Rowett has been targeted, with former R’s boss Ian Holloway the second choice for the job.

The Scottish Sun claim Sherwood is in running and that McInnes is also being considered because QPR have been impressed with his work at Aberdeen.

The newspaper believes former Bristol City boss McInnes has been added to QPR’s shortlist by director of football Les Ferdinand and chief executive Lee Hoos.

Scottish media have touted various managers north of the border for the QPR job when the position has been available in previous years.
