Fans on Twitter react to Aluko deal
Fulham and Reading fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that the two clubs have agreed a fee for Whites forward Sone Aluko.
The 28-year-old, who has scored nine goals in 54 appearances for Fulham, is having a medical with the Royals ahead of a proposed move.
While supporters of both sides were split over Aluko’s merits, many were in agreement that the £7.5m fee overvalued the striker – and Fulham fans were delighted the club were cashing in.
£7.5m for Aluko, a player who looks good but actually doesn’t do a lot. If he could finish he’d have scored 20 last year #ffc

7.5 Mill for Aluko is ridiculously good business from us. Making over 10 Mill from two players we got for free last summer #FFC

£12m profit in a year for Malone and Aluko is great biz , whichever way you look at it . Means we can invest , despite drop in parachutes

Don’t get me wrong, I like Aluko and his work rate, and he was important to the team last year, but we’d be mad not to take £7.5m for him

A number of Reading fans were also concerned about the price tag, with the likes of Norwich’s Nelson Oliveira and Preston’s Jordan Hugill mooted as alternative targets.
£7.5M for Aluko, flipping eck. Not particularly good, not young, not gonna improve, isn’t/won’t be worth that. Surprising one from Stam.

signing Aluko for 7.5m seems like a desperate move to keep Stam at #readingfc. Huge waste for a 28 yr old who doesn’t score

Signing Aluko, 28, for £7.5m with one year remaining on his contract is #ReadingFC having their pants pulled down. Go for Oliveira!!

Would much prefer us to spend the aluko money on oliviera or hugill #readingfc
