Some Chelsea fans on Twitter have been calling for Diego Costa to be dropped for Saturday’s game at Stoke City.
The Spain striker has scored just seven times in his last 26 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, stretching back to January – in stark contrast to the 17 he scored in his first 25 games for the club.
Despite relief at the 2-1 win over Dynamo Kiev, a number of supporters were critical of Costa’s display and feel Loic Remy – with a Chelsea record of 11 goals in 34 games – should start at the Britannia Stadium instead.
One player who did impress in the Champions League victory was Baba Rahman. The Ghanaian full-back had struggled in his initial appearances, to the extent that Kurt Zouma was played at right-back to keep Cesar Azpilicueta on the left side.
But he produced his best display yet in the win over Dynamo, leading to fans hoping he will get more game time in the Premier League.
