Clubs close to agreeing deal for Sturridge – report
Liverpool are close to finalising a deal for Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge, according to the Daily Mail.
It is claimed they are set to pay £12m for the forward, who has been widely tipped to move to Anfield when the transfer window opens.
On Tuesday Sturridge’s management company strongly denied reports he was demanding £80,000 a week to make the switch and that he wanted assurances he would be used as a striker rather than in a wide position.
Meanwhile, The Sun say QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants defender Matt Besler of MLS club Kansas City.
Southampton are also said to be keen on the 25-year-old, who was voted defender of the year in the United States last season.
And the Daily Telegraph reports that QPR’s players have cancelled their Christmas party.
