Transfer gossip: Sevilla linked with Zouma

Some of the recent transfer speculation involving Chelsea.

The Express have picked up on a report claiming that Sevilla want Kurt Zouma.

A number of clubs, including Valencia, have been linked with the Chelsea defender, who has been tipped to move on loan next season.

Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla say new Sevilla bossr Eduardo Berizzo has identified Zouma as one of his top targets this summer.

Speculation over Abraham loan move

Newcastle remain confident they will sign Tammy Abraham on loan despite the deal not being as straightforward as was initially thought, the Northern Echo reports.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is reported to have instructed the club’s managing director Lee Charnley to find out whether the chances of them landing Abraham have rescinded.

It comes after Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported that Vitesse Arnhem are looking to take Abraham on loan from Chelsea.

Vitesse have a partnership agreement with the Blues and it is claimed they have asked about Abraham, who is wanted by Brighton as well as Newcastle.

“With Chelsea we are working together with great pleasure, we have announced our wishes and are fully conversant,” Vitesse general director Joost de Wit has been quoted as saying.

The Eredivisie club are also said to be interested in Chelsea’s teenage midfielder Mason Mount.

Standard claim Chelsea want £10m for Abraham

Chelsea want £10m for Dominic Solanke following his role in England’s recent Under-20 World Cup triumph, the Evening Standard claim.

The out-of-contract striker, 19, has signed for Liverpool but as he is under 24 and a product of Chelsea’s youth system he cannot move on a Bosman free transfer.

A tribunal will set a compensation sum unless the two clubs can agree a fee. Liverpool are reported to have offered Chelsea £3m.

Terry speculation

Birmingham City have hijacked Aston Villa’s apparent move for John Terry and are confident of beating their rivals to his signing, The Times say.

Birmingham’s former QPR boss Harry Redknapp is said to be keen to sign Terry, who has been linked with a number of clubs.

The Sun claimed earlier this week that Terry is considering a move to Villa after a round of golf with Steve Bruce.

It came after Terry was pictured with Bruce and the Villa manager’s son Alex during a visit to the Quinta do Lago resort in Portugal at the weekend.

The Sun declared that Terry, 36, “hit it off” with Bruce and “likes the challenge” of a potential move to Villa.

And West Bromwich Albion have opened talks with Terry over a possible move for the Chelsea legend, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

Albion boss Tony Pulis expressed an interest in Terry during the January transfer window and Sky say he is looking to tie up deal to sign him this summer.

Speculation over Sanchez

The Independent say Arsenal remain adamant that they will not sell Alexis Sanchez to another English club.

Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with the Chilean forward, who apparently wants to stay in London.

‘Battle for Neves’

Chelsea have again been linked with highly-rated Porto midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Sun claim the Blues and Liverpool are “locked in battle” to sign the 20-year-old, who has played twice for Portugal.

It comes after Portuguese newspaper A Bola once again suggested that both Premier League clubs are keen to sign Neves.

Slutsky tipped to target Kalas

The Evening Standard claim Leonid Slutsky wants to make Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas his first signing for Hull.

New Tigers boss Slutsky is a friend of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and has been tipped to target Blues players.

The Standard say his first target is Czech defender Kalas, who impressed in the Championship while on loan at Fulham last season.

Chelsea are said to be ready to sell the 24-year-old, who made his Premier League debut against Liverpool in 2014.

Chelsea speaking to Caballero, Mail say

Chelsea are in discussions with Willy Caballero, the Mail say.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after leaving Manchester City and is among a host of keepers to have been linked with Chelsea.

The Blues are looking for a new deputy for first-choice keeper Thibaut Courtois following Asmir Begovic’s recent move to Bournemouth.

The Independent, meanwhile, say Chelsea expect to sign Caballero.

Traore reportedly in Lyon talks

Bertrand Traore is discussing a £15m move from Chelsea to Lyon, again according to the Mail.

The 21-year-old impressed while on loan at Ajax last season and a number of clubs are said to be interested in him.

Everton, West Ham, Sunderland, Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke and Lille have all made enquiries, the Mail say.

Chelsea eyeing Insigne – Sun

The Sun say Chelsea have lined up Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard.

It comes amid continued speculation that Real Madrid will make a move for Hazard this summer.

Insigne, 26, played under Blues boss Antonio Conte for Italy and The Sun say he would cost £45m.

Fabregas given assurance, Express claim

Conte has told Cesc Fabregas he has a future at Chelsea, but Nemanja Matic is likely to be sold, the Express claim.

Matic has been linked with Manchester United, while Fabregas has been linked with several European clubs but is apparently keen to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Express quotes ‘a source close to Fabregas’ as saying: “It would take a huge offer for him to go.”

Chelsea want Greek defender – Sun

Chelsea are hopeful of landing Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, The Sun say.

Arsenal are also said to be hopeful of signing the 29-year-old Greek, who has been tipped to move this summer.

The story appears to be based largely on comments made by Papastathopoulos after the end of last season.

He was quoted as saying: “I’m not young any more, time is getting shorter and I really want to win a title.”

Speculation over Chelsea youngsters

The Evening Standard say there will be a scramble to sign Fikayo Tomori and Jake Clarke-Salter on loan from Chelsea after both featured in England’s Under-20 World Cup win.

The Standard believe Chelsea plan to send Tomori to a top Championship club or to Germany, France or Spain next season.

Rodriguez still being linked

James Rodriguez continues to be linked with a potential move to Chelsea.

The Blues have been linked with Real Madrid’s Rodriguez during successive transfer windows despite not making an approach.

Spanish newspaper AS has again claimed that Chelsea are favourites to sign him this summer.
