Torres got the decisive goal, Ivanovic was outstanding once more and Hazard was arguably Chelsea’s star man again. Here’s how we rated the Blues players in their 4-2 victory at home to Reading.
Petr Cech: 5
A bad moment for Reading’s second goal but fortunately Chelsea spared his blushes by battling back.
Branislav Ivanovic: 8
Another barnstorming performance at both ends of the pitch – and another goal.
Gary Cahill: 6
Found the going tough at times but although his goal was fortunate, he took up a great position to try his luck.
John Terry: 7
Solid enough against the dangerous Pavel Pogrebnyak, whose header for Reading’s first goal was outstanding.
Ashley Cole: 7
Not one of his better games at Wigan on Sunday but was much sharper in this match, setting up the third goal.
John Obi Mikel: 6
Used the ball well but was too easy for Reading’s midfield to play through at times.
Frank Lampard: 7
Impressive both when breaking forward and later while sitting deep after Oscar was introduced. And another well taken penalty.
Eden Hazard: 8
Excellent again. Gave Chris Gunter a terrible time in the first half, culminating in the ragged full-back giving away a penalty.
Ramires: 6
Missed the Wigan game through illness and looked under the weather in this game. Not at his lung-busting best.
Juan Mata: 7
Some great approach play in the first half and played a vital part in Chelsea’s controversial but decisive third goal.
Fernando Torres: 7
Struggled to get into the game at times but produced moments of class and worked hard, so arguably deserved the touch of fortune he had when his goal was allowed to stand.
Oscar: 7
Will take time to adjust to English football but worried the Reading defence when running at them after being brought on as a substitute.
Daniel Sturridge: 7
Lifted the tempo when brought on midway through the second half.

In my opinion mikel is rated poorly, granted he wasnt at his best, but he performed averagely. Lamp on the otherhand gave the ball away too easily and on som many occassions. Without Mikel, i dont think chelsea defence line will be strong enough.
gosh ur rating of iva and lamps poor, mikel was left to do d holdn role alone wen is second pivot man was tkn a striking role even sometimes confusing torres of is position
@ jeffixy and d rater, U're both blind. How could u rate Oscar & Lampard,Sturidge above Mikel in dat match, wit Ramires who wasn't in d game @ all same level. Ur rating is sentimental. IDIOT.
Lamp and ivan were over rated but others,i think u got it right. Thanks 4 good job
Its either Ūя̲̅ ignorant or Ūя̲̅ sense of judgement άŋϑ accessment ȋ̝̊̅§ poor. On wat performance did U̶̲̥̅̊ rate lampard over mikel?
If u could rate Lampard that was lost on the pitch 7 and rate Mikel that was left to do the pivot work alone poor, I wonder what makes ur rating
Ivanovic was the poorest Chelsea player once again with the Reading wingers giving
him a terrible time. Are you related to him or what after giving him 8 ?
Ur rating s vry correct keep it up, u knw wok vry well.
