Dropped Chelsea players angry with Conte, Sun claim
Chelsea players left out for Monday’s FA Cup win against Manchester United are “furious” with boss Antonio Conte, The Sun claim.
The newspaper also declares that several players “had their noses put out of joint” and “are miffed with their manager” after being omitted.
Conte selected a number of fringe players for previous matches in the tournament but decided not to do so against United.
That meant John Terry, Kurt Zouma, Asmir Begovic and Nathaniel Chalobah were left out.
Nathan Ake, who has hardly featured since being recalled from a season-long loan at Bournemouth, was not in the matchday squad.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are weighing up a summer bid to sign Everton duo Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley in a deal that could be worth up to £100m, the Telegraph say.
It comes after former Chelsea striker Lukaku rejected a new contract at Goodison Park, where England international Barkley will have just 12 months remaining on his contract this summer if he does not sign a new deal.
Chelsea had offers for Lukaku rejected by Everton last summer and have inevitably been tipped to move for him again, while Barkley continues to be linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Mirror have reported that Chelsea are confident of re-signing Lukaku, while The Sun claimed the Blues and Manchester United are preparing bids for him and that there is also interest from Juventus and Real Madrid.
