Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko could be handed a coaching job at Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail.
The Ukrainian, who endured an unsuccessful spell in west London, is believed to be working towards qualifying for his coaching badges and has been seen at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground.
And it is claimed that Blues owner Abramovich has held talks with the 36-year-old about role at the club.
Meanwhile, The Sun is among a number of papers to report criticism of the FA for John Obi Mikel’s punishment for a dressing-room row with referee Mark Clattenburg.
The Chelsea midfielder was banned for three matches and fined £60,000, but the referees’ trade union Prospect believes that was too lenient.
“It is vital that officials were given real respect and this decision regrettably gave entirely the wrong message,” said a Prospect spokesperson.
“A player in parks football found guilty of behaviour like Mikel’s would have faced a long ban.”
