Chelsea are in the running to sign Inter Milan’s Fredy Guarin after offering Demba Ba as part of an exchange deal, according to the Daily Star.
Inter Milan officials are reported to have flown to England for talks with Tottenham and Manchester United about a potential deal for the Colombian midfielder.
It is suggested that taking Ba would be an attractive option for the Italian club because they need a need a new striker after injury problems for Diego Milito and Mauro Icardi.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say Bayer Leverkusen have beaten Chelsea to the signing of Germany Under-19 international Julian Brandt from Wolfsburg.
Chelsea’s Kevin de Bruyne is again linked with move to Germany, this time by the Daily Mirror.
The Mirror also say Manchester United are in no rush to open talks with Wayne Rooney about new contract despite Chelsea’s apparent renewed interest in him.
Chelsea have been interested in Southampton’s teenage left-back Luke Shaw for some time and the Daily Telegraph say the south-coast club are expecting another approach from the Blues when the transfer window opens.
The Mail suggest boss Jose Mourinho is keen for Shaw, 18, to compete with Ashley Cole for a place in the Chelsea side.
