Jay Bothroyd made his frustration clear after Sheffield Wednesday lost at home last night and is hoping they can bounce back against Middlesbrough on Friday.
The Owls were beaten 2-0 by Blackpool, and Bothroyd, on loan at Hillsborough from QPR, bemoaned the lack of chances that came his way.
He tweeted: “Very flat game . We got into good areas and didn’t have a good end product. We didn’t keep the ball well enough.
“It’s so difficult challenging for flicks all game and not getting any chances. Our last 4/5 games were totally different we need to get back to those performances and what better chance than a game Friday. No time to dwell.”
Bothroyd added: “Gimme chances I will score. We get into good areas but atm [at the moment] our final pass or cross isn’t good enough. We need more composure in the final 3rd.
“Another game Friday big performance needed I’m sure we will turn it back around again . Positive thinking is key.”
Meanwhile, Brentford’s former Southampton defender Harlee Dean savoured his team’s win over Portsmouth.
Dean, a product of the St Mary’s youth system, played a key role in the Bees’ victory against his ex-club’s south coast rivals.
He tweeted: “Buzzing. Great win and performance from the boys… Squad game and we showed our strength there.”
And Bees team-mate Shaleum Logan declared: “Great game 2nite from the lads stuck in to the end class from us all n well done the fans who travelled up great support.”
