Birmingham v QPR player ratings

QPR’s 2-1 defeat against Birmingham did nothing to ease the pressure on head coach Chris Ramsey. Here’s how we rated each of his players in the game at St Andrews.

Rob Green: 6
Produced a couple of decent saves in the first half. Was left badly exposed by his defence for Birmingham’s first goal.

James Perch: 6
An improvement on some of his displays this season but still needs to do better.

Nedum Onuoha: 5
The captain’s poor form is one of the biggest disappointments of Rangers’ season so far. He was given major problems by Clayton Donaldson and never looked comfortable.

Grant Hall: 6
Also looked uncomfortable at the back at times but stuck to his task and competed well.

Paul Konchesky: 5
Struggled for much of the game but had next to no help from Tjaronn Chery on the flank.

Karl Henry: 5
Another player whose form has been poor this season, Henry struggled again – particularly during a key second-half spell in which Birmingham had the upper hand in midfield.

Sandro: 6
Produced nothing spectacular but was decent enough before being substituted in the second half.

Matt Phillips: 6
Scored Rangers’ goal – his third of the season – but it was another muted display from the winger. Rangers needed him to be much more assertive on the right-hand side.

Leroy Fer: 5
An unimpressive display in which he failed to offer adequate support for either Rangers’ midfield or Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. That said, the Dutchman, who has been managing an ongoing knee problem, went close with a shot just before going off and was beginning to look a threat.

Tjaronn Chery: 5
Certainly showed a willingness to shoot, going close on a couple of occasions. However, like Phillips he offered very little on the flank. And his delivery from set-pieces was very poor.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas: 6
A frustrating afternoon for the forward, who received very little support up front before being taken off late on.

Massimo Luongo: 6
Neat and tidy but unable to have any real impact after coming on.

Daniel Tozser: 6
Showed some quality on the ball after his introduction but lacks sharpness.
