Brentford will take part in the coming season’s Help for Heroes Charity Cup.
The competition, run under the auspices of the Middlesex County FA, has been running since 1901 and was formerly known as the Middlesex Senior Charity Cup.
Middlesex club Ashford Town are the current holders and previous winners of the trophy include Chelsea and Barnet.
Brentford’s development side will be involved in next term’s tournament along with FA Trophy semi-finalists Wealdstone, plus other local non-League clubs including Uxbridge, North Greenford United, Northwood, Hanworth Villa and Hanwell Town.
Every match will raise money for Help for Heroes, with a percentage of gate receipts from each tie being donated to the charity.
“We are delighted to once again welcome Brentford into the Help for Heroes Charity Cup,” said Middlesex County FA chief executive Peter Clayton.
“Their presence in the competition will create a sense of excitement among our clubs. We hope that other clubs will follow Brentford’s lead in entering next season’s competition and help us to raise even more money.”
Help for Heroes is a charity launched in 2007 to help provide better facilities for wounded British servicemen and women.
