Transfer gossip: Bees reported to have wanted Oxford, Hogan speculation continues
Nottingham Forest have beaten Brentford to the loan signing of West Ham youngster Reece Oxford, the Daily Mirror say.
Oxford is expected to join Forest from the Irons ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The Mirror claim Brentford also wanted the 18-year-old, who had been tipped to join Glasgow Rangers.
There is inevitably speculation over the future of Brentford striker Scott Hogan as the transfer window enters its final stages.
The Sun, which went to press before news emerged that West Ham appear to be out of the running to sign Hogan, reports that a deal to take him to east London is almost complete.
The newspaper also claim Brentford insisted on a £1m payment should the Hammers win the Premier League title after signing Hogan.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail say Aston Villa are ready to sell Ashley Westwood for £5m to Burnley ahead of launching a £9m bid for Hogan.
