Barton praised by QPR legend and Assou-Ekotto enjoys Spurs win

QPR legend Rodney Marsh praised Joey Barton following Rangers’ dramatic win against Doncaster.

Marsh was at Loftus Road, where Charlie Austin’s injury-time header secured a 2-1 victory.

“What I like about Barton is no matter how poorly he’s playing he never hides from the ball.. Good win 2-1,” Marsh tweeted.

And R’s chairman Tony Fernandes wrote: “It’s wins like this which build character. Great start to 2014.”

Meanwhile, QPR’s on-loan Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto enjoyed his friend Emmanuel Adebayor’s starring role in Spurs’ win at Manchester United.

Both players were frozen out at White Hart Lane prior to Andre Villas-Boas’ recent sacking as manager.

Assou-Ekotto tweeted: “I luv my man adebayor… He just show how AVB was wrong about him…Well done spurs happy for tim too great perf LOL.”

  • Don't be put in a fool's paradise by a 2-1 win over lowly Doncaster. If the penalty had been given?????????????????????????????
Rangers are playing like a bunch of crocks. I feel they should play a higher line with only one striker, but they don't because no one has the energy to chase back for the ball - the way Lennon does for Spurs. It's all one way - very slowly, very gently and very predictably. Come on Harry - we need to improve the work rate by 75%.
