News in brief: Youngsters called up, Doughty’s loan deal extended
England Under-21s
Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has earned his first international call-up after being named in the England Under-21 squad for two friendlies this month. His Whites team-mate Cauley Woodrow, who scored twice at this summer’s Toulon Festival, retains his place for the matches against Portugal and France.
Chelsea’s Nathaniel Chalobah and Patrick Bamford, QPR’s Jack Robinson and Brentford’s on-loan midfielder Alex Pritchard are also in the squad.
Yun Suk-Young
QPR’s left-back is once again in South Korea’s squad for upcoming friendlies with Jordan on 14 November and Iran on 18 November.
George Williams
The Fulham teenager has been named in Wales’ squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium on 16 November. The 19-year-old has won four caps for his country, and made his first start in the qualifier with Cyprus last month.
Michael Doughty
The QPR midfielder has extended his loan at League One Gillingham until the new year. The 21-year-old has made two appearances for the Gills and will now stay at the Priestfield Stadium until 24 January.
Lyle Della Verde
The Fulham midfielder has joined Conference Premier side Bristol Rovers on a month’s loan.
Harlequins
All four Quins players named in the England squad for the autumn internationals will start against New Zealand at Twickenham on Saturday. Chris Robshaw will captain the side, Danny Care wins his 49th cap at scrum-half and Joe Marler and Mike Brown are also in the side.
