Forget Stevenage or Frome, future Lewis Hamiltons and Jenson Buttons could be bred in Acton.
Indoor karting firm TeamSport have introduced England’s first electric go-karts for kids at their west London centre.
Eight eco-friendly state-of-the-art karts for youngsters aged eight to 12 have been added to the fleet, intended to provide a thrilling yet safe experience for motorsport fans.
Dom Gaynor, TeamSport managing director, said: “We are delighted to be in a position that allows us to introduce a new addition to one of our main tracks in the capital, which happens to be the only track in the UK where children can race on a multi-level track.
“The new go-karts are far cleaner and quieter than your average petrol kart, yet offer superior acceleration, which is something our customers really look for in their karting experience.
“We are extremely passionate about getting more children involved in motorsport and hope to raise awareness that many high-profile auto racers start their careers with go-karting.
“We have already seen a rise in the popularity of electric-powered karts and with Formula E recently introducing the world’s first fully-electric racing series, it means we will start to see battery operated vehicles play a much bigger role in motorsport as a whole.”
