Kurt Zouma will return to first-team action in Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Peterborough United.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that Zouma, who suffered cruciate knee ligament damage against Manchester United last February, will start this weekend’s game.
Zouma, 22, has featured in a number of Under-23 matches and the third-round tie against Posh is seen as the ideal time to bring him back into Conte’s side.
Conte has also indicated that striker Michy Batshuayi, who is yet to make his full Premier League debut, will start on Sunday.
“I think for Michy it could be a good opportunity to show me his progress,” the Italian said.
“For him but also for other players could be a good opportunity to show me that he deserves to play more in future.
“It is very physical in England but Batshuayi is growing into this.”
Youngsters such as Ola Aina are also expected to be involved.
