‘Worried’ Mourinho regrets team selection
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho criticised his players – and said he regretted his team selection – after the defeat against Newcastle.
The Blues were beaten 2-0 at St James’ Park, where on-loan QPR striker Loic Remy’s late goal sealed the Magpies’ victory.
It brought an abrupt end to Chelsea’s excellent recent run, which had seen them win six matches in a row.
“We deserved to lose. We were too soft with and without the ball,” said Mourinho.
“We gave Newcastle 45 minutes of a friendly and it was only when they scored the [first] goal we had a reaction. I think it was a really bad performance by us.
“I made 11 mistakes. I should have picked the other 11 and not this one, and it’s the feeling I have when my team plays so bad.
“Of course I’m exaggerating, because I have some players in good form, but the feeling is that I made 11 wrong choices.”
And Mourinho added that the performance was worryingly reminiscent of Chelsea displays during recent seasons in which they failed to sustain a title challenge.
He explained: “I am worried. I saw the previous years and the same happened – the team was successful in cup competitions and they were not successful in the Premier League.
“This season we have played five matches away in the league and we have one victory and two defeats. It does concern me.”

Ayodele Samuel i really welcome ur comment it was well taken. He(Jose)should not be using sentiment in selection, actually Oscar & Harzard were nt in d game but yet they played 90 mins dat was bad & he removed Mata dat was in d game b/cos he was a Spanish & he dosen’t like him.

Mou has conceded making mistakes,however its high time he started using mikel in place of lampard who shud ve a limited game time

Mourinho is going to learn the hard way what previous managers did.
No future with Terry and Lampard.
I will explain:
Terry has a almost static position forcing all the other players run more space to get the ball. Different situation with the couple Luis-Cahill who traverse the field reducing the field size.
This means more time for talented players with the ball.
Against Newcastle Terry did a hundred boring stupid passes to the next defender wasting time, and this happens every game.
For sure in Terry’s mind He never loses a ball, but this is ridiculous for the manager, later he is crying not having enough time to make goals.
By the other way Lampard Hazard Mata and Oscar never worked. The 3 amigos need a contention midfielder to provide them the ball ASAP.
Mikel did very well in the game with Manchester United with Benitez at Old Traford. Here the same reason of reducing the field so the talented have more time the ball and don’t have to be worried traversing long distances in th field.
Terry and Lampard’s friendship is going to pass the bill to Mourinho.
Some of genius and some of inexpert, He is blinded by the fortune of last minute wins as with City and cant see the same errors are repeating again and again.
With Newcastle Mourinho replaced everyone in the front and still don’t have a clue that the problems are in the back with his two static friends.
Ay! Mourinho……Ay! Mourinho….

the special one uses sentiment and barse mind in his team selection, why not start willian, mikel and most of the players that featured in arsenal match, e.g mourinho does not like mata, torres, mikel, essien and most of his players, for God sake john terry and lampard are old they should not be staring every game, oscar and hazard was not in the game yet they play 90 minutes just because he likes them, as a good coach he is not surpose show that he does not like some players. Oscar was not given the ball to torres only looking for goal in him, thank God the special one no his mistake.

Why luiz ahead of cahil sure luiz doesn’t defend he can’t contest ariel battles but either fowls people or shy away completly he is no defender at all he makes terry work too much and that what padew told cabay leading to the 1st goal as for mata he was short 1 in the middle he can’t retain posession nor win it worst still he is only capable of playing in front of people and never behind them again ramires needs to go forward and make way for our dm per excelless jon obi mikel

I think we had problems upfront & n deffence.Torres & Luiz wer not quite gd. Mornho betr gt us Lewandsk or Martinez & Mangala cm january.
