West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic is a doubt for his team’s game against Chelsea on Sunday.
Arnautovic, who has been a key player for the Hammers this season, picked up a knee injury towards the end of their win at Everton on Sunday.
Speaking at a media conference on Thursday afternoon, West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that Arnautovic would need to be assessed to see if he is fit enough for this weekend’s derby.
His absence would limit Pellegrini’s attacking options as striker Javier Hernandez is struggling with illness and is not expected to be available.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jack Wilshere is out for six weeks with an ankle injury.
Pellegrini said: “Marko finished with a problem behind his knee. We will see if he is fit for Sunday.
“He played well against Everton and we are hoping that he will recover.
“Javier Hernandez is still sick and Jack Wilshere has a problem with his ankle.”
