Tuchel hails ‘focused’ Chelsea after cup win
Thomas Tuchel praised his players after they won 2-0 at Middlesbrough to secure a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Despite the uncertainty over the club’s future, Chelsea have now won six matches in a row in all competitions.
They are highly fancied in the Champions League, as the best bitcoin for us players show.
“I’m super happy because we were very focused,” head coach Tuchel said.
“We defended and attacked as a team. On the ball, we were calm and we controlled the match. We scored in decisive moments.
“I’m very happy and very impressed because it was another very focused performance and a deserved win.”
Tuchel also explained that Jorginho was given a rest and keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was absent because of illness.
And the German made it clear that Chelsea do not want Reece James to join up with the England squad despite his inclusion by boss Gareth Southgate.
James has been out injured and has not yet returned to full training.
“The recommendation is that he does not go,” Tuchel said.
“He’s still in individual training, otherwise we would have brought him to Lille and we would have brought him here.
“He needs one more week of individual rehabilitation and I think we can provide this much better. It’s not the job of the national team to do this.”
