Tuchel explains decision to start with Chalobah
Thomas Tuchel feels the time is right to recall Trevoh Chalobah to the Chelsea side.
Blues boss Tuchel gave Chalobah a starting place for the game at Leicester, with the fit-again Mason Mount also recalled.
Chalobah lines up alongside Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger at the back, with Andreas Christensen on the bench.
Christensen seems likely to feature in next week’s Champions League game against Juventus.
Tuchel told BT Sport: “Trevoh deserves it. He is a good fit with his speed and his height for set-pieces. He deserves to play.”
Timo Werner is among Chelsea’s substitutes, having returned to full training following a hamstring injury.
Tuchel explained: “We decided yesterday that Timo would be on the bench because he feels absolutely free (of injury).
“We have only three substitutes to use so I don’t know if he will have the chance to play.”
