The stats that show how Kante’s game has changed at Chelsea
N’Golo Kante faces his former Leicester team-mates for the first time as a Chelsea player on Saturday.
His final game for the Foxes was at Stamford Bridge in the 1-1 draw at the end of last season.
Statistics provided by fantasy football game Oulala.com show how Kante’s performances have developed since his £30m summer switch.
At a new club and under a new manager, Kante has featured in various formations, which in turn has had a direct influence on his stats this season.
The change of role under Antonio Conte has shown improvements in three areas for passing, while four of the five defensive measures have seen a drop.
Kante is making almost double the amount of successful passes per game (58 to 32) and far more forward passes (41 to 24), while his overall pass completion is up significantly from 82% at Leicester to 91% with Chelsea.
However, the 25-year-old is winning fewer tackles (1.9 per game at Chelsea, compared to 3.4) at a reduced success rate (36% to 48%). He is also making fewer interceptions and clearances as the stats above show.
