Terry scores as Blues beat Blackburn

John Terry marked his final appearance of the season with a goal as Chelsea ended their league campaign with a victory.

Terry, suspended for the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, headed home Romelu Lukaku’s cross after 31 minutes.

Three minutes later, Chelsea went further ahead when Raul Meireles – also banned for the Munich clash – fired in from the edge of the penalty area after good work by Michael Essien.

Yakubu pulled a goal back for relegated Blackburn with a second-half header before the home side missed a number of chances to score a third.

Ramires – another player who will be suspended for the European encounter – hit the bar as Chelsea won more comfortably than the scoreline suggested.
