Terry could return for Arsenal clash

Rafael Benitez will decide on Saturday whether to include John Terry in this weekend’s derby at home to Arsenal.

The Chelsea skipper recently returned to action after two months out with a knee injury, but interim manager Benitez hinted this week that he would not be involved against the Gunners.

However, Terry’s fitness has been improving and Benitez now appears to be seriously considering restoring him in the wake of Wednesday’s surrendering of a two-goal lead against Southampton.

He has delayed a decision for 24 hours because Friday’s training session was affected by heavy snow.

Benitez explained: “I didn’t decide because today the pitch is not in the best condition.

“We will see tomorrow after the training session. Today it was just possession and some football but nothing else.”

The Spaniard added: “It’s important to have players with character on the pitch.

“It’s something we are considering. We are working very hard with John and will see tomorrow how he feels.”
