Rafael Benitez says John Terry is being considered for Chelsea’s Capital One Cup semi-final clash with Swansea.
The Blues, 2-0 down from their first-leg defeat Stamford Bridge, have at times been guilty of some shoddy defending during Terry’s spell out with a knee injury.
He has been an unused substitute for recent matches but could be recalled by interim manager Benitez for the game at the Liberty Stadium.
Benitez said: “We had a hard training session yesterday and he was doing well. Today he was involved in training as well and is an option.”
But the Spaniard reiterated that he will take no chances as he eases back Terry, who was stretchered off during a match against Liverpool in November.
He said: “We have a plan with him and we’re following the plan. He can play in any game if he’s fit. At the moment he doesn’t have match fitness.”
