John Terry is available for selection and in contention for Chelsea’s game against Stoke this weekend.
It was feared the Blues skipper would be sidelined for a further six weeks when he underwent keyhole surgery on a knee problem.
But his recovery has been quicker than expected and Terry was an unused substitute for Tuesday’s FA Cup win at Birmingham.
“He’s available. We’ll have to take it in small steps,” confirmed interim boss Roberto Di Matteo.
“For him to recover in just two weeks is really good. He’s done really well to recover so quickly and is determined to help the club.”
