Silva back in training ahead of Liverpool clash
Thiago Silva trained with the rest of the Chelsea squad on Tuesday.
The veteran defender has been out of action since going off with a thigh injury during the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Tottenham on February 4.
Chelsea hoped he would return before now – but boss Thomas Tuchel said on Friday he believed Silva would resume training this week.
And he duly took part in Tuesday’s session, raising hopes that Silva might be available for Thursday’s match against Liverpool at Anfield.
Tuchel is expected to give an update on Silva’s fitness at the German’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
Callum Hudson-Odoi also took part in training.
The winger was seen holding an ice pack to his leg after being substituted at half-time against Manchester United on Sunday.
Tuchel said afterwards he was withdrawn both for tactical reasons and because of a slight injury.
