Gonzalo Higuain has not travelled with the Chelsea squad for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie against Dynamo Kiev.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri confirmed at a media conference in Kiev on Wednesday evening that Higuain did not make the trip to Ukraine because of illness.
“He had a fever for two days so yesterday evening we decided to leave him at home,” Sarri explained.
Sarri has named an otherwise full-strength squad but is expected to rest players for the game.
Chelsea are very much on course for the quarter-finals after a 3-0 win in the first leg at Stamford Bridge.
