‘No consequences’ for recalled Hazard
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists there will be no lasting recriminations for Eden Hazard after the Belgian missed a key training session.
Hazard was dropped for this week’s Champions League victory against Schalke, having lost his passport and failed to make it back to London in time after a trip away.
But he has been recalled for Saturday’s game against West Brom and Mourinho says it is business as usual for the Blues playmaker.
Mourinho said: “I think he reacted well, because he apologised to me and the club.
“Of course it was something I couldn’t accept, but it’s over now and it’s something that doesn’t exist any more.
“He is selected and is ready to play and I believe he has an appetite to play because I did not allow him to play in the last game.
“It’s over. There are no [more] consequences. The consequences were not to play and I think that is the worst thing that can happen to a player.
“He is a good kid so there are no problems. Obviously it was unacceptable and he knows he made a mistake.”
